United States wins Gold in Women’s 4×400 m Relay

Team United States won the gold medal in the Women’s 4×400 m Relay event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Saturday, August 21 at the Olympic Stadium.

Team USA consisting of Allyson Felix, Phyllis Francis, Natasha Hastings and Courtney Okolo won the gold medal finishing the race first with a time of 3:19.06 comfortably finishing first, ahead of others. It was their seasons best performance.

Jamaica’s Stephenie Ann McPherson, Anneisha McLaughlin-Whilby, Shericka Jackson and Novlene Williams-Mills won the silver medal finishing second, with a season’s best time of 3:20.34, which was well over a second behind the winners.

Great Britain’s Eilidh Doyle, Anyika Onuora, Emily Diamond and Christine Ohuruogu won the bronze medal in the event with a time of 3:25.88.

Allyson Felix of United States now has a record 6 Olympic Gold medals under her name along with the 3 silver medals.
