United States wins Gold in Men’s 4×400 m Relay

Team United States won the gold medal in the Men’s 4×400 m Relay event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Saturday, August 20 at the Olympic Stadium.

Team of Arman Hall, Tony McQuay, Gil Roberts and LaShawn Merritt finished the race first with a time of 2 minutes 57.30 seconds to win the gold medal with their seasons best performance.

Jamaica’s Peter Matthews, Nathon Allen, Fitzroy Dunkley and Javon Francis finished the race in second place with a time of 2:58.16 to win the silver medal in the event. It was their seasons best timing.

Alonzo Russell, Michael Mathieu, Steven Gardiner and Chris Brown of Bahamas won the bronze medal in the event finishing the race third with a time of 2:58.49. It was their seasons best timing.

In fact, out of the eight who were part of the final race, two broke their national record and 4 others achieved seasons best timing in the finals.
