Sara Kolak of Croatia wins Gold in Women’s Javelin Throw

Sara Kolak of Croatia won the gold medal in the Women’s Javelin Throw event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Olympic Stadium in Rio.

Sara Kolak won the gold medal with her fifth attempt which was a 66.18 metres throw and also set a new national record with it. It is Croatia’s 5th gold medal of Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

South Africa’s Sunette Viljoen who was leading for a while won the silver medal in the event with a throw of 64.92 metres which he had achieved in her first atempt itself.

Barbora Špotáková of Czech Republic won the bronze medal after finishing third with a best throw of 64.80 metres.
