Japanese wrestler Sara Dosho won the gold medal in the Women’s Freestyle 69 kg Wrestling event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Wednesday, August 17 at Hall 3 of the Olympic Training Center in Barra da Tijuca.
In the 69-kg final, Sara Dosho, a 21-year-old Olympic debutant defeated Russia’s Nataliya Vorobyova on the basis of greater superiority, after both the players ended for a tied score of 2 points each.
It was a great day for Japanese female wrestlers as they grabbed all the three golds on offer in women’s freestyle wrestling at the Rio Olympics on Wednesday.
Russia’s Nataliya Vorobyova had to settle for silver medal after loosing out in the gold medal bout.
The bronze medals of the event went to Kazakhstan’s Elmira Syzdykova and Sweden’s Jenny Fransson who defeated Enas Mostafa of Egypt and Dorothy Yeats of Canada in their respective bronze medal matches.
