Ryan Murphy of United States won the gold medal in the Men’s 100m Backstroke Swimming event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games to keep the U.S. backstroke Olympic Gold streak alive.
Ryan Murphy won the gold in Men’s 100m Backstroke with a time of 51.97 seconds, setting a new Olympic Record.
Xu Jiayu of China won the silver medal finishing second with a time of 52.31 seconds while David Plummer of United States secured the Bronze medal with a time of 52.40 seconds.
United States has always won Gold in Men’s 100m Backstroke Event since the 1996 Games in Atlanta – consecutive 6 Gold Medals (1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016).
