China’s Ren Qian won the gold medal in the Women’s 10m Platform diving event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Thursday at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Center within the Olympic Park.
15-year-old Ren Qian became the youngest medalist of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, winning the gold with a total of 439.25 points, around 20 points ahead of her compatriot Si Yajie .
Si Yajie won the silver medal finishing second with a score of 419.40 points.
Others were no match to these Chinese divers as the next best was Canada’s Meaghan Benfeito who won the bronze medal with a total of 389.20 points, more than 30 points below the second place finisher and 50 points below the gold medal winner.
