PV Sindhu Wins Silver in Badminton Women’s Singles

PV Sindhu creates history, wins Silver Medal in the Women’s Singles Badminton Event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Friday, August 20 at the Pavilion 4 of Riocentro.

PV Sindhu suffered a defeat at hands of world No. 1 Spain’s Carolina Marín to win the silver medal in the event.

Coming back from behind, PV Sindhu won the first set but Marin made a strong comeback and then took the game away from PV Sindhu. In the third set as well PV Sindhu tried to make a comeback but failed and in the end lost the match.

Carolina Marín defeated PV Sindhu in a three set match 19-21, 21-12, 21-15.

Non the less, Congratulations to PV Sindhu !!!

This is the best performance by an Indian in the Badminton Event of Olympic Games. Earlier in 2012, Saina Nehwal won bronze medal in the Badminton Women’s Singles event of Lodon 2012 Olympic Games.
