Magdalena Fularczyk and Natalia Madaj of Poland won the Gold medal in the Women’s Double Sculls Rowing event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Thursday.
They beat Katherine Grainger and Victoria Thornley of Great Britain by 0.95 seconds with a time of 7:40.10 to win the gold medal.
Katherine Grainger and Victoria Thornley of Great Britain had to settle for silver medal after finishing second with a time of 7:41.05, despite leading for much of race.
With this Silver medal, Katherine Grainger became Britain’s most decorated female Olympian, having previously won gold in London Olympics in 2012 and silver medals in Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.
Donata Vištartaitė and Milda Valčiukaitė of Lithunia won the bronze medal with a time of 7:43.76.
