New Zealand’s Peter Burling and Blair Tuke won the gold medal in the 49er Sailing event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Before the medal’s race it was very much clear that after 12 races, with 40 points they were already in a winning position and just needed to finish the medal’s race to win the gold medal.
In the medal’s race they finished first and ended on 42 points to win the gold medal.
Australia’s Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen won the silver medal finishing with 91 points finishing fourth in the medals race.
Germany’s Erik Heil and Thomas Plößel won the bronze medal finishing with 101 points finishing eighth in the medals race.
