Omar McLeod won the race in 13.05 seconds with daylight between him and the rest of the field to give Jamaica its first-ever gold medal in the event.

Orlando Ortego of Spain won the silver medal finishing second with a time of 13.17 seconds.

France’s Pascal Martinot-Lagarde won the bronze medal in the event finishing third with a time of 13.24 seconds.

America’s Devon Allen of the U.S. finished fifth in the race.
