Ma Long of China wins Gold in Men’s Singles Table Tennis

China’s world number one Ma Long wins gold medal in all-China Men’s Singles Table Tennis final match of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Ma Long defeated countrymen Zhang Jike 4-0 (14-12, 11-5, 11-4 and 11-4) to win the gold medal.

Zhang Jike had to settle for silver medal.

After the match got over, Ma Long held up a Chinese flag with Zhang Jike to reflect the country’s continued domination in the game of Table Tennis.

Japan’s Jun Mizutani won the bronze medal defeating Belarusian Vladimir Samsonov 4-1 (11-4, 11-9, 6-11, 14-12, 11-8) in the bronze medal match.

It was Japan’s first ever Olympic medal in the table tennis men’s singles and its second medal ever in the sport of table tennis.
