Lukas Krpalek of Czech Republic wins Gold in Men’s 100 kg Judo

On Thursday, Lukas Krpalek of Czech Republic won country’s first ever Olympic Judo medal when he won gold medal in Men’s 100 kg Judo event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

In the final match, Lukas Krpalek threw Elmar Gasimov of Azerbaijan for the maximum ippon with an inner reap technique to win the gold medal.

Elmar Gasimov of Azerbaijan had to settle for the silver medal.

Bronze medals were won by Cyrille Maret of France and Ryunosuke Haga of Japan who defeated Germany’s Karl-Richard Frey and Ukraine’s Artem Bloshenko in their respective bronze medal matches.
