Kerron Clement of United States won the gold medal in the Men’s 400 m Hurdles event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Thursday, August 18 at the Olympic Stadium.
Kerron Clement finished the race with a season best performance of 47.73 seconds to win the gold medal.
Kenya’s Boniface Mucheru Tumuti was not far behind. He finished 0.05 seconds later to earn the silver medal and broke the national record.
Turkey’s Yasmani Copello finished third to win the bronze medal with a time of 47.92 seconds and he also broke the national record.
Puerto Rico’s Javier Culson, the 2012 Olympic bronze medalist, was disqualified after false starting.
Four of the seven runners who finished the race broke national records.
