Jin Jong-oh of South Korea today created history with third straight gold in Men’s 50 m Pistol Shooting event.
He became the first shooter in Olympic history to win a specific event at three Games in a row.
In a dramatic event, he shot his way back from near elimination after a poor ninth shot to win the competition. He ended scoring 193.7 points.
Vietnam’s Xuan Vinh Hoang, who made history on Saturday by winning his country’s first gold in the 10m air pistol, scored 191.3 points to win the silver medal.
North Korea’s Kim Song-guk won the bronze medal with 172.8 points.
