Jade Jones of Great Britain wins Gold in Women’s 57kg Taekwondo

Jade Jones of Great Britain won the gold medal in the Women’s 57kg Taekwondo event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Thursday, August 17.

23 year-old Jade Jones, successfully defended her Olympic gold won in London 2012 by defeating Spain’s Eva Calvo Gomez by a score of 16-7 in the final match.

Eva Calvo Gomez had to settle for a silver medal loosing out in the final match.

The bronze medals of the event were won by Egypt’s Hedaya Malak and Iran’s Kimia Alizadeh who defeated Belgium’s Raheleh Asemani and Sweden’s Nikita Glasnović in their respective bronze medal matches.
