Great Britain’s Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark won the gold medal in the Women’s 470 Sailing event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Thursday.
Great Britain’s Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark won the gold medal finishing the event with 44 points – the lower the better. Before the race started they were were already in a winning position and just needed to finish the race, even a last place finish would see them through to gold medal. They eventually finished eight and won the gold medal.
New Zealand’s pair of Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie won silver finishing second with 54 points.
Camille Lecointre and Helene Defrance of France won the bronze medal finishing third with a total of 62 points.
