The Golf events of the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics will be held at the new Olympic golf course built within the Reserva de Marapendi in the Barra da Tijuca zone from 11 to 20 August 2016.

In the game of golf, players use a selection of clubs to get their ball from the teeing ground into a hole in the fewest number of shots possible – the player who completes the 18-hole course with the lowest shot total wins the round.

Rio 2016 Summer Olympics Paris Events :

There will be two medal event namely – Men’s and Women’s Event.

Men’s Event : 60 men will compete for 1 medal event.

Women’s Event : 60 women will compete for 1 medal event.

Qualification will be based on world ranking as of 11 July 2016, with a total of 60 players qualifying in each of the men’s and women’s events. The top 15 players of each gender will qualify, with a limit of four golfers per country that can qualify this way. The remaining spots will go the highest-ranked players from countries that do not already have two golfers qualified. The IGF has guaranteed that at least one golfer from the host nation and each geographical region (Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania) will qualify.
