Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland wins Gold in Men’s Road Time Trial Cycling

Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland won the Olympic Gold medal in the Men’s Road Time Trial Cycling event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Fabian Cancellara finished his time trial in 1hr 12min 15.42sec to win the gold medal, his second career Olympic gold. Previously he had won it in Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Tom Dumoulin of Netherlands won the silver medal finishing second with a time of 1hr 13min 02.83sec while Chris Froome of Great Britain won the Bronze medal finishing third with a time of 1hr 13min 17.54sec.

Fabian Cancellara who retires from the sport by the year end would have been relieved to end his career on a winning note.
