Hungarian kayaker Danuta Kozak won the gold medal in the Women’s K-1 500m Canoeing event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Thursday, August 18 at the Lagoa Stadium.
Danuta Kozak won the race in 1 minute 52.49 seconds to win he gold medal and successfully defend her Olympic title. It is her careers fifth Olympic medal.
Emma Jorgensen of Denmark finished second with a time of 1:54.326 to win the silver medal.
New Zealand’s Lisa Carrington, who won gold in the women’s kayak single 200 metres on Tuesday, won the bronze medal in this event finishing third with a time of 1:54.372.
