Dalilah Muhammad of United States won the gold medal in the Women’s 400m Hurdles event of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Thursday, August 18 at the Olympic Stadium.
Dalilah Muhammad won the gold medal finishing the race first with a time of 53.14 seconds to win the gold medal. She was dominating the race despite a light rain that fell over the Olympic Stadium.
It is for the first time that a women from United States has won gold medal in this Olympic event.
Denmark’s Sara Slott Petersen won the silver medal finishing second with a time of 53.55 seconds.
Ashley Spencer of United States won the bronze medal in the race finishing third with a time of 53.72 seconds to achieve her seasons best performance timing.
This win will give lot of confidence to Dalilah Muhammad, as she was struggling since last two years with injuries and was loosing confidence due to disappointing results.
