Conseslus Kipruto of Kenya won the Gold Medal in the Men’s 3000m Steeplechase event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Wednesday, August 17.

Conseslus Kipruto won the gold medal finishing the race in a time of 8 minutes 3.28 seconds to set a new Olympic record breaking the previous record of 8:05.51 set by Julius Kariuki of Kenya way back during 1988 Olympics in Seoul.

Evan Jager of United States finished second to win the silver medal with a time of 8:04.28 to achieve her seasons best performance.

Ezekiel Kemboi of Kenya won the bronze medal clocking a time of 8:04.47 to achieve her seasons best performance.
