Germany’s Christoph Harting won the gold medal in the Men’s Discus Throw event of Rio 2016 Olympics on Saturday.
Christoph Harting won by a narrow margin with his final throw of 68.37m that passed Poland’s Piotr Małachowski best attempt of 67.55m.
Piotr Małachowski of Poland ended with a silver despite leading for much of the day.
Germany’s Daniel Jasinski won the bronze medal with a throw of 67.05 m.
The discus competition included 12 throwers in the final. Each was granted three attempts at a throw, and those with the top eight best distances getting three more. It turned out to be an absolute thrill.
