Charline Picon of France wins Gold in Women’s RS:X Sailing

France’s Charline Picon won the gold medal in the Women’s RS:X Sailing event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Sunday.

France’s Charline Picon claimed Olympic gold in a fiercely contested medal race in which only six points seperated the the top six of 10 sailors qualified for the medal round.

China’s Chen Peina won silver and Russia’s Stefaniya Elfutina took bronze.

Elfutina, at 19 the youngest sailor at the Games and Russian’s first sailing medalist in 20 years.
