World No. 1 Badminton Player, Spain’s Carolina Marín won the gold medal in the Badminton Women’s Singles event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games, but it was PV Sindhu who won hearts of 1.21 billion Indians winning the silver medal.
Carolina Marín defeated India’s PV Sindhu, currently ranked No. 9 in a tiring game 19-21, 21-12, 21-15.
PV Sindhu took the opening game against Spain’s Carolina Marin 21-19 but couldn’t sustain that momentum as the World No 1 came back into the contest to win the next two games 21-12 and 21-15.
